Business Card Star - Help with Adding Photos & Logos to your Business Cards

Adding a photo or logo to your business card on BusinessCardStar.com.

Check out the video below, or scroll down for the FAQ and instructions on adding images.

What kinds of files can I use?
You may use a .jpg, .gif, or .png file.

How large should my image be / what resolution is required?
The maximum file size is 3mb.  To ensure proper resolution we recommend your  image is 300dpi at the size you wish to use it on your card.  A business card measures 3.5" x 2", so an square image of 600 x 600 pixels would be an appropriate size.  An image that covered the entire card would need to be 1100 x 600 pixels.

How long will you keep my images in my library?
We keep images in the library for a few weeks.  If you purchase your design (printed cards, printable PDFs, or high resolution artwork formats) then we will keep your images saved in the library for you so you can  re-order cards.
If your image is deleted, you will simply need to re-upload it and add it to your saved project to purchase.

How many images can I use
You can use one photo or logo on the front and one on the back.

How much does it cost to add an image to my business card?
There is no additional charge for adding an image to orders of printed business cards or high-resolution artwork.  Print-at-home PDFs with photos or logos cost $10 USD.

How do I upload and style my image on my card?
See the steps below.  We have a photo upload video tutorial if you prefer.

HOW TO ADD PHOTOS:
USE THE "ADD IMAGE" TOOLS TO BEGIN
Select the Add/Edit Button to begin the image upload process.  This button is found on the lower right corner of the business card maker under the "Add Image" heading.

Your image will now appear in the image masking and cropping window.

CHOOSING A MASK SHAPE
You can choose from a rectangle, a rounded rectangle, or a circle/ellipse to mask your image.  Click on the radio button next to the shape you wish to use.

If you are using the rounded rectangle shape you have the option of changing the angle of the corner curve to make it more or less rounded.

CROPPING YOUR IMAGE
Use the handles that appear on the corner of the masking shape to select which portion of the image you want to appear on your card.

ADD THE IMAGE TO YOUR LIBRARY
Once you have selected the mask shape you want and cropped the image, click on the "Add to Library" button.

You will be prompted to name your image as it is added to the library.

CHOOSE THE IMAGE YOU WANT TO ADD TO YOUR CARD

You can also use the "Delete" icon to remove the image from the library.  You also can make adjustments to the mask or cropping by clicking on the "Edit" icon.

POSITION AND SCALE YOUR IMAGE
Now your image will appear in the business card maker.  Click on your image to drag it into the position you desire.

You can also scale the image larger or smaller by using the handles that appear on the corners of your image.

ADD A BORDER IF DESIRED
To add a border to your image, check the box next to the word "Border".

You can change the color of the border by clicking on the color swatch next to the slider.

You can change the width of the border by using the slider next to the color swatch.

CHANGE OR DELETE YOUR IMAGE
If you want to change your image select the "Add/Edit" button.  This will take you back to the Image Library where you can repeat the steps to upload an entirely new image.  Or you can use the "Edit" icon on the side of your existing image to change the mask or cropping of the image.

You can also delete the image if you no longer wish to use an image on your card.
